Angel Fund

Hawthorne's dream is to end economic euthanasia.

We love our community, especially the furry members of our community! That is why in 2017 we started the Angel Fund. The Angel Fund is used to provide financial support in order to improve the quality of life for animals. This is all thanks to generous donations made by the community. Every dollar raised for the Angel Fund is matched by Hawthorne Animal Hospital.
Through the Angel Fund, we have the privilege of working with several police departments in the area by providing care to their K9 officers. The Angel Fund provides cradle-to-grave veterinary care for all of these K9 officers, including vaccinations, emergency care, flea/heartworm prevention, and prescription food. The K9 officers we currently work with include: Griff & Wrath from the Glen Carbon PD, Wood River retiree Ordi (after 7 years of service!), Clark from the Wood River PD, Wookie from the Litchfield PD, & Moose from the Pontoon Beach PD.

In addition to caring for the K9 officers, the Angel Fund is also utilized in helping the recovery of wildlife that is brought to Hawthorne by Treehouse Wildlife Center, a non-profit rescue and rehab for wildlife. So far, Dr. Myer has treated many wildlife animals brought to us by Treehouse, including eagles, owls, coyotes, fawn, and more!
